The Central Primary School of Houzhai Town, Nan'ao County, Shantou City is located on Haibin Road, Qianjiang, in the county seat. It is a school with a long history and a large scale in the basic education of Nan'ao County, the only island county in Guangdong Province. It was founded in 1907 (the 33rd year of Emperor Guangxu's reign in the Qing Dynasty) and was originally named "Qiushi School". It was designated as a key school in the county in 1980 and renamed "Central Primary School of Houzhai Town, Nan'ao County" in 1986. The school proposes the school's purpose and philosophy of "laying the foundation for the all-round development and lifelong development of students" and "let students experience the joy of success and grow harmoniously and healthily; let teachers enjoy the happiness of education and achieve self-development". The school has always adhered to the correct direction of running a school, taking art education as a breakthrough, comprehensively implementing quality education, and comprehensively improving students' comprehensive quality. In 1997, it was rated as a "First-Class School in Shantou City", and in 2008 it passed the evaluation and acceptance of the standardized school for compulsory education. In 2011, the First Primary School of Houzhai Town, Nan'ao County was merged into the Central Primary School of Houzhai Town.
