The predecessor of Dazhu County People's Hospital was the county health center founded by the government of the Republic of China in Wuji Temple in 1940. After more than 70 years of hard work by several generations of Zhu doctors, it has now developed into a national Class III Class B comprehensive hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, and preventive health care, a baby-friendly hospital, a national pilot hospital for comprehensive reform of county-level public hospitals, and one of the "500 county hospitals in the first phase of comprehensively improving the service capabilities of county-level hospitals" determined by the National Health and Family Planning Commission. It is a counterpart support hospital of the Chengdu Military Region General Hospital; a joint base for standardized training of resident physicians in Sichuan Province, a teaching hospital of North Sichuan Medical College, Dazhou Vocational and Technical College, and Dazhou School of Traditional Chinese Medicine; Dazhu County Emergency Center, a designated hospital for the treatment of the sick and injured with various basic medical insurances and commercial insurances; the county has a population of 1.12 million, radiating to Liangping, Dianjiang in Chongqing, Linshui in Guang'an, Quxian in Dazhou and other neighboring counties, serving nearly 2 million people.
